The Connection Calmer
In this video, I’ll talk you through the next steps of The Connection Calmer for babies who are aged 6-12 months. This step is focussed around the last feed of the day. It’s especially helpful for babies who get dialled up and inpatient after their bath (could babygro wrangling be an Olympic sport?!) It will also be really helpful for babies who wake up with wind in the first couple of hours of the night.
It’s a 3 minute video with actionable steps that you can try at bedtime tonight.
Give this a go this evening, and let me know how you get on!
If you’d like some bespoke advice around how to help your child sleep well, you can book in a free no obligation sleep review call with me. I will listen to your unique situation and can give you some specific suggestions about how you might be able to improve your little one’s sleep with just a few tweaks to your current routine.
This may be all you need to make sleep feel more manageable for now. If you’d like to continue to work with me after that then we can discuss this in more detail. Either way, you’ll come away feeling more confident about sleep, and more hopeful that things can and will improve.

Testimonials
“I got in touch with Louise when my baby was 6 months old. We wanted some support in working towards helping him get used to settling more independently, with less reliance on being fed or rocked to sleep. I must admit, I was a bit sceptical about working with a sleep consultant - it was my husband who came across Louise’s website on a Google search. However, I needn’t have worried. We really felt like Louise understood our situation and met us where we are at.
We followed her evening and bed time routine almost exactly last night and our baby slept the longest stretch yet in his cot. We had a lovely evening with our friends, so it felt very rewarding. Our baby was also very happy throughout the whole process.
I actually feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders - talking through our concerns, the reassurance and guidance she gave us makes us feel we have a focus and direction that is specific to our needs now. Thanks Louise!”
“Having Louise’s help has made such a positive difference to my relationship with my daughter and my experience of maternity leave.
At 6-7 months, I was feeding to sleep several times a night and relying on an in-cot sleeping pod. Louise gave me the confidence to break that cycle — it was easier than I’d anticipated, though I wouldn’t have had the courage to do it without her guidance.
I met Louise when I was at my most frazzled and vulnerable, and she has got me through some dark times during the last few months. She is extremely knowledgable and experienced, is clearly an expert in her field having read all the latest research, and yet is not in the slightest bit judgemental when I tell her that we’ve had a few wobbly days / nights.
More than anything, Louise is empathetic — she’s been there, seen everything and got through it. I have every confidence that we will all get a full night’s sleep soon, and I am certain the journey has been made smoother and more rewarding thanks to Louise’s support.”

Breastfeeding at night is completely normal and natural, but everyone has their limits, and if you’ve been feeding every hour or two at night for months on end, it’s not surprising that you’re exhausted.
Firstly, if your baby is under 6 months and you’re feeding hourly, I’d recommend that you speak to an IBCLC (lactation consultant). Sometimes, sleep issues are a symptom of a feeding problem such as a shallow latch, tongue tie, reflux or allergy, so it’s important to ensure that there aren’t any underlying issues at play.
If you’re happy that your child is generally feeding well, but their night feeds feel too frequent, then I can help you with this. You don’t need stop breastfeeding completely or introduce formula in order to improve sleep.
When we work together, I’ll talk you through gentle strategies you can use to help optimise your child’s sleep and increase the chances of them sleeping for longer stretches at night. As well as this, I can talk you through methods you can use to gently introduce other ways of settling, so that you can have an alternative to feeding when your child wakes. Also, if your partner has previously struggled to settle your child (which is really common), I can talk them through strategies that they can use, so that night time parenting can be shared between you a little more and some of the weight lifted off your shoulders.

You’re definitely not alone - lots of parents reach out when they are about to return to work. I have extensive experience in supporting parents through this transition.
If this is where you’re at, I would recommend my Gold package. With this, we can take things in stages, and work at a pace that is right for both you and your child. We’ll often start with focusing on optimising sleep as much as possible, with a particular focus on attachment, and supercharging your little one’s buckets of love and attention before bed. Often these small changes can bring about big positive changes to the night.
From here, if needed, we can work on reducing feeds or introducing alternative settling methods. I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way with limitless support, helping you both get the sleep you need so that you feel your best entering this new chapter in life!

This is exactly why I offer a month of support with the Gold package.
Over the course of a month, it’s inevitable that there will be a runny nose, and illness or a tooth coming through. With a month of support, I’ll be able to help you navigate the ups and downs that can affect your child’s sleep, so that you feel confident to handle these challenges as your child gets older.
If your child is more seriously ill (e.g. has a high temperature), we can pause the month of support, and restart when your child is better again.
-
Yes, it is! I know how much parents value this support, and this is why I make it limitless for the month. During the course of the month that we’re working together, you can book in as many calls as you need. We can use these calls to review your successes, talk through any challenges you’ve experienced, and discuss next steps.
As well as limitless telephone support, we’ll set up a what’s app group set so that you can stay in touch on a day to day basis. I’ll reply to messages as soon as possible, (always within 12 hours), giving you access to all the information you need as you put your plan into place. With this, you won’t need to do any late night Googling and you can feel confident knowing you’ve got an expert by your side as you put your plan into place.

If you want to make changes either to where your baby sleeps, how you are settling them, or how you respond in the night, I’d suggest you have at least 3-4 weeks where you can be at home at night and be consistent in your approach.
However, I know that 3-4 weeks can feel like a lifetime when you’re utterly exhausted! So, if you’d like to make a start on some easier tweaks that are likely to make a positive impact straight away, you can book your sleep package now and have the initial consultation straight away. During this call, we can discuss the easier changes you can make now, so that you can start making progress straight away. As well as helping you get some quick results, we’ll also be able to talk through some strategies to help sleep happen as easily as possible while you’re away.
If you book a Gold package, you can pause the support while you’re away, and get started back when you’re home to make the bigger changes to the middle of the night settling. If you book a Young baby package, you can use your follow up calls when you get home. With this, you get the best of both worlds! It’s worked really well for families that I’ve done this with before. If you’d like to talk it through before booking, just book a discovery call and we can discuss your plans.
